Funeral Arrangements Made For Woman Who Was Stabbed To Death

Funeral arrangements have been made for a woman who police say was murdered in North Ogden some time Saturday or Sunday. 23 year-old Brittnay Nichols was found dead in your bedroom, stabbed several times all over her body.

Her funeral is set for Saturday at Lindquist Mortuary in Layton on Fairfield Road.

Sunday, after several failed attempts to reach her, Nichols mother and father went to her condo in North Ogden to check on her. Nichols father entered the home, found b
lood leading from the front door to his daughter’s room. She was dead inside.

Police started a man hunt, searching for Nichols 21 year old boyfriend, Johnny Maurice Bell. He was later captured on a Greyhound bus 25 miles north of Beaver, Utah. Police say they believe he was fleeing the state, headed back to San Bernardino where he grew up.

We spoke with Nichols father Monday night. He said his daughter and Bell did fight occasionally but nothing excessive. He saids his daughter had announced to the family that she intended to split with Bell.

Nichols watched a football game with her family at their home in Syracuse, Utah Saturday night. During the game, family members say they knew she intended to end the relationship, after the game she left, and was not seen alive again by her family.

The next day, Nichols mother and father tried to contact their daughter but with no luck. The couple then headed to Nichols condo in North Ogden where she has lived with Bell for fo
ur months.

Her father entered the home and immediately saw blood leading to his daughter’s bedroom she was dead, stabbed several times all over her body.

Nichols has a three year old daughter; the girl is now safe and sound with her grandparents in Syracuse.

Bell is behind bars charged with aggravated murder.
